Learning Workshops to help you settle feel at home
We run a variety of workshops and events designed to support you as you build your new life in the UK. From language and skills classes to social gatherings and practical advice sessions - there’s something for everyone.

In-Person Events
All our in-person classes and drop-in sessions take place at:
7 St Peter’s Court, Off St Peters Street, Colchester CO1 1WD
Please note: there is no onsite parking, but the nearest car park is Nunns Road, just a short walk away. The venue is easy to reach by foot or public transport.
Integration Thru Language (ITL)
Build your English skills through practical topics like shopping, directions, and form-filling. Lessons are repeated to help you grow in confidence at your own pace.
Tuesdays & Thursdays: 10:30am–12:30pm
Tuesdays: 1:00pm–3:00pm
Driving Theory
Learn key words, practise mock tests, and get help with applying for your provisional licence. Support from tutors, volunteers, and peers.
Tuesdays or Thursdays: 1:00pm–3:00pm
Conversation Classes
Join in relaxed discussions on everyday topics, practise pronunciation, and build listening and speaking skills in a friendly group.
Wednesdays: 10:30am–12:00pm
Friday Drop-in Support
Book a session for help with job searching, writing letters, forms, using the internet, or driving theory revision.
Fridays: 10:00am–3:00pm
Online Events
Our online classes are held on Zoom. You can download Zoom for PC here, or find the app in your app store for mobile and tablet devices.
Once you're registered for a session, we'll send you the Zoom link and any instructions you need to join.

Learn English from home with structured online sessions covering everyday language and useful topics.

Aspects of Life in the UK
Learn how UK systems work, including the NHS, schools, housing, benefits, and key services like the police and social care.

Driving Theory
Online help with theory test preparation, key terms, and hazard perception. Friendly support to build your confidence.
Mondays: 1:00pm–3:00pm
Wednesdays: 1:00pm–2:30pm
Citizenship Practice Tests
Guided preparation for the UK citizenship test. Get help with tricky words and test navigation. Self-study required.

Special Events:

Women’s Only Sewing Class
Come and learn to sew in a welcoming, women-only environment. Whether you're a complete beginner or want to build on your skills, this course covers both hand sewing and machine sewing. You’ll learn how to make useful items like blankets and clothing, and how to carry out repairs.
